Mother to High Teer Leonard James Akaar of planet Capella Iv. Eleen's husband, High Teer Akaar, was killed in a local power struggle in 2267, whereupon Eleen accepted the necessity of her own death under Capellan law, since she carried the unborn child who would be teer. Her execution was prevented by personnel from the Starship Enterprise. Upon the birth of her son, Eleen became regent, ruling the Ten Tribes until Leonard James came of age. Eleen named her son Leonard James in honor of the two Enterprise officers who prevented Klingon outsiders from overthrowing her government, a distinction that caused James kirk and Leonard McCoy to become insufferably pleased with themselves (according to Spock).
